What is tentmakernet.com?

We are a virtual organisation that seeks to help churches, mission agencies & nations to develop their own tentmaking vision. We help people to organise tentmaking missions at the local level within their existing structures. The end result is to see every European nation sending out fully trained tentmaker missionaries into unreached areas of the world.
Many churches do not envision sending fully supported missionaries due to lack of funds, but most of them have skilled people who would make excellent tentmaker missionaries with the proper training and support.

What does it actually do ... ?

- to find a national representative in each European nation & to assist them in developing a tentmaking missions strategy for their nation. These representatives are encouraged to join TIE (formerly Tentmakers International Exchange)

- to get the national churches onboard for tentmaking missions

- to provide national representatives with the needed materials to do the job

- to provide ongoing stimulus and support

- to offer each nation their own free webpage & email address, if needed.

  www.tentmakernet.com/polskaa   polska@tentmakernet.com

- to motivate development of annual conferences & training seminars hosted in turn by various member nations

- together to train & send labourers into the harvest, specifically into unreached areas of the world.

How is it funded ... ?

- all work is by volunteers, all services are offered free

- tentmakernet is thankful to the individual donors who make this possible

- donations accepted to cover cost of maintaining website.
Donor will receive recognition on the front page of site & one free webpage.

- national reps are self funded or donor supported

Who are you accountable to... ?

- TIE, Global Opportunities, Pickenham Trust & TASK.

- the virtual advisory board of tentmakernet

How can I become a national representative... ?

- by contacting tentmakernet directly. For more info click here

How will you facilitate communication ... ?

- national reps will become a part of a moderated eGroup, a closed moderated chat room and by attending annual conferences

What are your core values... ?

- tentmakernet supports tentmaking as a holistic 24/7 lifestyle ministry, not as an access strategy

- tentmakernet seeks to promote integration of work and ministry

- tentmakernet fully committed to reaching other peoples with the Gospel by encouraging national rep's to promote tentmaking locally

Where are you located?

- tentmakernet only exists virtually thus remaining "non-national"
- board members are located in various countries in Europe
- annual conferences will be hosted in turn by national workgroups

What have you achieved so far?

- tentmakernet vision was born in the fall of 1998 and we are now actively seeking national reps to complete the platform for a "made in Europe" network
- the first countries to develop their own tentmaking workgroups were Norway and Finland - it is hoped that future national workgroups would follow their models.
- official launch of the tentmakernet.com website was 03.June, 2001 in Barcelona Spain.
- the meeting of the Worthing Group in March 2002 (representatives from TIE, TASK, Pickenham Trust & GO), led to a formal agreement of using tentmakernet as the communication & encouragement channel for developing tentmaking in Europe.

What is a virtual advisory board?

- tentmakernet is actively seeking people of God who have a vision for tentmaking missions and who have a good understanding of today's tentmaking realities
- board members will monitor eGroup emails, regularly check the website and make themselves available as advisors to national reps.
- board members do not have to meet together but are expected to communicate among themselves via email
- board members have authority to remove national reps from the tentmakernet group

How can you be promoting tentmaking in countries that do not even have a local church with a missions focus?

Tentmakernet seeks to encourage new churches to develop a missions strategy as early as possible. As tentmakers are self supporting, there is no need for churches to wait until they can afford to send supported missionaries.

Many churches do not envision sending fully supported missionaries due to lack of funds, but most of them have skilled people who would make excellent tentmaker missionaries with the proper encouragement, training and support.

"A missions minded church is a growing church"
