2. 3. 4. FIELD DEVELOPMENT 4.1 Exposure To Field · Field research - most possible exposure in terms of people, customs, culture, language and work in field, including research of field on field · Establish sensitive contact with other tentmakers working in same field - locally and in field 4.2 Choose A Field · Identify fields where skills, abilities and profession can be used effectively · Involvement in projects in host country while still at home 4.3 Development Of Field Involvement · Identify possible projects for involvement in host country · Identify organizations involved in host country and job opportunities · Identify specific type of involvement · Understand partnership principles 4.4 Pre-Field Preparation · Gather information on all aspects for entering host country · Plan and obtain documents for departure (Passport, visas, airtickets) · Apply for work permit in host country (if applicable beforehand) · Meet health requirements · Arrange personal financial affairs at home · Finalize logistical support structures for time in target country 4.5 Cultural Sensitivity Development · Learn to Appreciate cultural differences · Commitment to learn foreign language/culture · Form multi-cultural relationships (understand bonding principles) · Identify real needs in community · Develop action plans to meet needs · Relate and function within host structures
5. CHURCH DEVELOPMENT 5.1 Choice Of Church · Know how to choose a home church · Identify with Biblical doctrine · Understand process in church · Understand leadership structures 5.2 Involvement In Church · Find your fit in a church and learn to work with church leadership · Be constructively involve in a local church · Applying your spiritual gifts in the local and wider body · Develop understanding of tentmaking in local church · Work towards acceptance by church for responsibility of supporting their tentmaker · Building of management team 5.6 Develop a Church Support Management Team (CSMT) · Identify a committed core group to give assistance as support team · Work with them to set goals for development of vision in church and wider · Form/build/explore contact and development of professional interest group · Establish communication channels within and to home structures · Form open trust relationships with CSMT · Build awareness and comfortable use of security regulations required for field · Equip others to communicate vision to broader Church
